Graham Wilde
Graham is CEO and co-founder of BWCS and leads the Telecommunications and Transport Practices. Graham's psychology degree from Oxford University underpins his ability to build bridges between technologists and their customers, translating the needs and drivers of each to build business success. Graham's approach is grounded in international hands-on experience in telecoms in addition to his prolific international consultancy portfolio. Graham is visionary in his approach to looking at technology markets and developing new market concepts. His blend of creativity and technical insight has led him to develop innovative services which give his clients real strategic advantage. Recent projects include a successful 3G licence bid in Macau, ISP cost modelling for Ofcom, fibre access deployment strategy for Japan's NTT and marketing strategy for on-train Internet service for the international high speed train operator Thalys. His early career was with Logica and Nortel Asia-Pacific. Graham enjoys playing the drums.
Elizabeth Baker
Liz is a director and co-founder of BWCS. She leads the Defence, Security and Energy Practices. Liz’s specialisms include strategy consultancy, innovative programme design and change management, market analysis, business development strategy and execution. After studying at Cambridge University, Liz worked in commercial, marketing and sales roles in Europe and Asia at market-leading technology organisations including BT and Vodafone. She has an 18 year track-record of consulting in technology industries. She has recently driven a major change management programme for an international defence company. Liz’s style is bright and engaging, which is central to her success in building trust with her clients at board level. She will quickly get to grips with the dynamics of the people and the issue and solve the problems that really matter. Liz lives in Ledbury, UK, and is a keen photographer.
Arthur Drewitt
Arthur is a lead consultant in our Telecommunications Practice. A technology enthusiast to the core, Arthur brings solid operational and project management experience to his clients. Successes include project managing a major billing system upgrade for a European cellular operator and the development and launch of three Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) in Belgium. His energy sector clients include Hong Kong's China Light and Power (CLP). He worked previously for Nortel in Asia. Arthur is especially skilful at building international teams, bringing together his extensive sector experience with a truly global career. He is Canadian and lives in Paris. He has an MBA from Edinburgh University.
Ross Parsons
Ross runs BWCS's successful Conference Programme and is a lead consultant in our Transport Practice. Ross’s charm and quick-witted approach is essential to his ability to quickly build effective relationships across teams. This underpins Ross's skill in market research, allowing him to get to the heart of issues through frank, insightful debate. Recent experience includes a major strategy study on telecommunications use in the British rail industry for the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB), and procurement and business planning support to First ScotRail for on-train Internet access. A Scot by birth and education, Ross now lives on the south coast of Devon.
Peter Cartwright
Peter heads up our Regulatory Practice. He has 20 years experience in creating cost models for fixed and mobile telecommunications operators, and brings deep technical knowledge of telecommunications network engineering to his clients. He has led major programmes for the Danish National IT and Telecom Agency, Sweden's Post-och Telestyrelsen, Italy's AGCOM, ComReg in Ireland, and was an advisor to Zain in Jordan. He is the author of Interconnect Costing, the leading handbook on cost modelling in telecommunications, now in its third edition and purchased by over 200 organisations worldwide. Peter joined the BWCS team in 2001 having begun his career in engineering before taking consulting roles at Deloitte and Touche, Nortel, Swisscom and Czech Telecom. Peter is a graduate of the Aston University MBA programme and lives in Gloucester.
Peter Magee
Peter is a management consultant with twenty years experience in international telecommunications, IT and defence consultancy. Peter began his consulting career at Price Waterhouse, Arthur D Little and IBM and joined BWCS in 2002. Peter brings a creative and cross-functional approach to classic management disciplines including marketing, programme and project management, IT implementation, business process re-engineering, sales, procurement, CRM, billing and business improvement. Recent clients include Cassidian, QinetiQ and BT Openreach. He is a graduate of the prestigious Ivy League MBA Programme at Amos Tuck School, Dartmouth College, USA, and lives in Kent and Ledbury. Peter is a passionate fan of rock music and a regular festival attendee.
Robert Marshall
Bob is a hugely experienced business-to-business market researcher with a unique ability to understand and size technology markets across all our practices. He has worked with BWCS since 1998. With a 40-year international career, Bob has experience in technology development lifecycles across many sectors. Recent projects include assessing the global market for MEMS microphones in mobile handsets, the potential for a high security WiFi technology, opportunities for new explosives detection technologies, and the UK market for Ethernet business services. An Oxford University Geographer by academic background, Bob now lives in Kingston upon Thames.
Bettina Altemuller
Bettina is a financial and economic modeller working in our Telecommunications and Transport Practices. She joined the BWCS team in 1998. Betty's specialisms include Long Run Incremental Cost (LRIC) models of fixed and mobile networks, and general cost modelling of public telecoms and transport communications systems. Recent clients include the Danish National IT and Telecom Agency, Sweden's Post-och Telestyrelsen, the UK Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB), and British wireless site management providers Arqiva. Before joining BWCS she worked at Financial Times Business publishing in Singapore and CIT Publications in the UK. She is a Chartered Management Accountant. Betty combines clear thinking on strategic financial and economic issues with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving. She is fluent in English and German and lives in Devon and the USA.
Catherine Fletcher
Catherine specialises in change projects, communications and executive coaching. She has a track record of delivering change through internal communications, event management, coaching, business process transformation and culture change programmes. She achieves success by building relationships, changing attitudes and focussing on the simple and straightforward in a world of complexity. Catherine began her career in the environmental consultancy sector including four years in business management which gives her a firm grasp of everyday operational realities. She also has nine years experience in the defence and security sector.
Catherine was educated at the University of Nottingham and Henley Business School where her MBA research project on culture change was awarded an A-grade. Her coaching experience is underpinned by the academic rigour of the Henley Business School Certificate in Coaching.
Catherine lives in Kingston upon Thames and has a passion for music. She plays piano, clarinet and saxophone and considers the invention of the ipod to be one of the human race's greatest achievements.
Mandy Cale
Mandy is a business analyst who supports our consultants across all of the markets that we serve. She specialises in the graphical representation of complex data. She has worked on projects for NTT (Japan), EADS, Scottish Enterprise and Ofcom. She holds a degree in History from the University of Leicester, UK, and is a big fan of Formula One.
Tania Lewis
Tania is a market analyst and project manager with over 20 years marketing experience both from a client and agency perspective. With her exceptional project management skills and high energy, she has been key to numerous technology launches during her career including DAB radio and Digital TV. Following a spell in Shell’s Innovation Unit, Tania started her own marketing agency where she worked closely with clients on the development and launch of a number of Financial Services products. More recently, Tania has focused on research working with Lloyds Banking Group at both consumer and stakeholder levels. Tania graduated from Exeter University and speaks fluent French and Italian. She lives in West London where she enjoys cooking and Tai Bo boxing – but not simultaneously.
Elaine Cale
Elaine is the beating heart of BWCS. She presides over the accounts and administration offices and nothing gets past her eagle-eyes. When not keeping the company on-track with ruthless efficiency, she enjoys a busy family life in Ledbury. Elaine is a mother of six and grandmother to four – so far...
Chris Butler-Donnelly
Chris is a professionally qualified and commercially focussed Business leader with extensive experience in the management of complex Defence and Telecommunications programmes. An accomplished and talented Business Development professional with a proven track record in successfully assembling and developing teams and strategies to support business growth. Over the past 30 years, Chris has held a number of senior positions both in the UK and internationally, and brings a blend of pragmatism and innovation to management consultancy combined with strong communications and inter-personal skills. A graduate of North Staffordshire Polytechnic, Chris lives in South Wales where he actively supports the local community.
Eileen Fisher
Eileen is head of sales and marketing at BWCS. She has almost 20 years experience in this field having held senior sales posts at publishing and research companies.
More recently she was a project manager with Raleigh working with groups of young people on various projects in Ghana, Namibia and Borneo. She also worked at Raleigh head office coordinating the Volunteer Manager teams who run the community, environmental and adventure projects across the world. Her enthusiasm, experience and Irish charm make her a key member of the team. She lives at home with a committed fisherman.
